An Italian Tale – A Journey through Language, History & Art
Learning a new language is never just about grammar and vocabulary—it is about discovering a culture, its history, and the stories that have shaped it. An Italian Tale offers a unique opportunity to study Italian while immersing yourself in the literary and cultural world of Alessandro Manzoni’s masterpiece, The Betrothed (I Promessi Sposi) set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lecco and its iconic lake.
Program Overview
This program connects language acquisition with literature, history, and art, turning every lesson into a real-life cultural experience. Open to a wide range of learners, the curriculum is designed for students from absolute beginners (A1) to upper-intermediate levels.
The program follows a two-fold structure:
Morning Sessions: Tailored Language Learning. Dedicated to personalized Italian classes, students are divided into small groups based on their proficiency level to ensure fast progress. The curriculum covers essential grammar, practical vocabulary, and conversational skills for everyday situations, adapted to your specific level.
Afternoon Sessions: Living the Narrative. Bring the language to life through guided cultural activities. Explore the landscapes and historical settings that inspired Manzoni’s novel, from the vibrant streets of Milan and Monza to the iconic shores of Lake Como. By linking literature to place, you will experience how language and culture are deeply interconnected.
By the end of the journey: Students will not only improve their Italian but also gain a firsthand understanding of Lombardy’s heritage, experiencing its language, history, and art as part of an authentic Italian narrative.
